Pittsylvania County Convenience Sites
Pittsylvania County currently operates 18 Convenience Sites
They are open seven days per week: 7 AM until 8 PM (Including All Holidays)
Each site has a part time operator assigned to run the compactor and police the site.
The sites are for Pittsylvania County Residents ONLY
Accepted Materials:
1.
Compactor
· Regular Household Waste and Cardboard ONLY
· No hazardous waste chemicals or liquids
· Small household items (small appliances such as a toaster, boxes, small chair, small table etc)
As a general rule if it’s in a bag, box or one person can safely carry its ok!

Open
Containers
· Household Furniture and Appliances “No bagged waste, cardboard, construction debris or clean up debris.
3.
Recycling
· Aluminum Cans
· Newspaper
No business trash: All business must have a
private hauler or bring there waste to the landfill directly.
No construction debris: Contractors must have a
private hauler or bring there waste to the landfill directly.
No yard waste: This material should be brought to
the landfill.
No tires: Please return old tires to a tire
dealer or you may bring split tires to the landfill.
Do not overfill containers or remove any material
from the containers.
If containers are full please return another day
or try another site
Brush, building debris, contractor trash,
business trash must be contracted for privately or brought to the landfill.
