A Message from the County Administrator

As Pittsylvania County Administrator, I would personally like to welcome you to the Pittsylvania County web site.  Included in the County's web site are many items of interest and links to other County related functions and activities.  Each department, agency, or commission has contact information.  If you are unable to find a contact that you are interested in, or if you have a comment, question or concern, please contact the County Administrators Office.

 If you or your family is considering relocating to Pittsylvania County, be sure to browse through the County pages and links for information on one of Virginia's finest places to live.  Rich in heritage and natural beauty, Colonial Planter and Surveyor Col. William Byrd called Pittsylvania County "Land of Eden" in 1733.  Today the County is a growing, vital area, reflecting Col Byrd's assessment.

 A Board of Supervisor-Chief Executive Officer form of Government is utilized to manage the County.  The County Staff upholds the highest professional standards, striving for excellence in all the services we provide.  The County is a leader in innovative technology and is prepared to face the future challenges of tomorrow with swift, positive solutions to problems, and the development of successful partnerships.
