Animal Control - Other Information

Pittsylvania County Animal Control Offices are appointed as Conservators of the Peace and as such have enforcement powers concerning animal issues. They can arrest and ticket violators. Additionally they can issue tickets for illegal dumping and illegal trash disposal.

 Pittsylvania County Animal Control handles a wide variety of animal issues including but not limited to:

• Upholding State and Local Animal Codes and Regulations

• Loose or Stray Dogs & Cats

• Nuisance Dogs

• Dangerous Dogs

• Livestock
