We the staff of Pittsylvania County Emergency Management & Communications wish to express our love, thoughts and prayers to the family of our friend and co-worker, Everett Lee "Bo" Martin Jr. Bo became what is known in the 911 profession as a "Silent Key" on March 31, 2006. Known to many as "the voice" of CeCom, Bo guided emergency personnel and apparatus to the scenes of crime and tragedy in Pittsylvania County for well over a decade. His unmistakable voice would saturate the airwaves with his calm and caring nature. Bo proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was also well known in the law enforcement field. He was a graduate of Danville Community College and employed by the Danville City Police Department, retiring in 1994 after 35 years of service. An avid amateur "ham" radio operator for many years, he communicated with other radio enthusiasts not only in the United States but in foreign countries as well. He was also a member of the Ramah (now Roman Eagle) Masonic Lodge. Bo will be greatly missed. Rest in peace friend. |
