The Pittsylvania County Human Resources Department is responsible for serving the personnel needs of the employees of Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors which includes various Constitutional Offices.  Constitutional Offices served by the Human Resources Department include the Sheriff's Office, Treasurer's Office, Commissioner of Revenue's Office and Commonwealth Attorney's Office.

Pittsylvania County is seeking applications for a full time Janitor. Under the general supervision of the Building & Grounds Supervisor, will maintain the County buildings to ensure that they remain safe and clean. Must be able to follow written and verbal directions. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting. Must be able to deal courteously and effectively with the public and co-workers; the ability to work under a minimum of supervision; the ability to mix and apply pesticides according to label instructions and accurately use measuring devices for detergents as required in routine cleaning. Education and experience equivalent to completion of elementary school. Must be able to read, write and understand pesticide labels as well as warning labels and symbols.
